Potato Head is the new competition for Ku De Ta, running a close race for the title of coolest location on the beach. The sunset views are the same only the space is much larger, perhaps losing on the intimacy scale to Ku De Ta. The architecture though is worth coming to take a peek at. The walls and ceilings are a mosaic of coloured wooden window shutters all subtly lit with dim lanterns and soft uplights. The DJ rocked. I enjoyed the music because it wasn't the usual radio repeats, hubby didn't like it so much for the same reason. The crowd is mainly smart casually dressed expats and visitors. A bottle of Bintang here is probably the most expensive you can find on the island at 30k for a small bottle and cocktails will set you back anything from 120k onwards. Worth a try is the Prohibition Iced Tea. This drink pays tribute to the days when liquor was disguised cleverly to avoid detection. The concoction is served in a tea pot with a side of vodka injected oranges. Not only does it taste good, it looks pretty too.
